Poncha Springs is a small town with big ambitions. The “Crossroads of the Rockies” because it sits at an intersection between two main thoroughfares, US 50 running east-west and 285 north/south through this wonderful Colorado community.
The Poncha Springs area of Colorado is a hidden gem. Home to some incredible red rock scenery that gives you the perfect backdrop for your holiday photos, it also offers hiking trails and camping options – all close to one another.
North to Salida and Buena Vista are east on Highway 160 – or west through Monarch Pass for scenic views of Colorado’s San Juan Mountains. The pass leads to an immense amount of recreation and adventure, while the south one takes you on tour through Colorado’s high country where it meets up again at Monarch Mountain ski area before ending in Buena Vista, opposite side from Highway 160 ascends into civilization.
The valley it’s located at has an incredible view of Pikes Peak, making this place so popular with tourists visiting from all over the world.
